Ready And Waiting

It has been a couple of days since I have written a blog post, because, well, I simply have not known what to write about. Right now, my days consist of getting up early to take a shower and then cleaning the house to make sure that it is spic and span in preparation for possible showings. After the house is cleaned from top to bottom, I sit and wait for a call requesting a showing or, better yet, many showings.

This week, showings have been few and far between. I am assuming that is due to the upcoming holiday weekend and most people have weekend plans to prepare for whether it be going to the Indy 500 and its many festivities, preparing for a weekend away, or looking forward to a backyard BBQ with family and friends. For us, our weekend plans consist of preparing for and hosting our kids high school graduation party.

I was so excited a few weeks ago when we thought we had already sold our house. It meant that we could finally get ready for the party and scatter all of the supplies around the house to plan out the look and make sure that we had all of our supplies. We have purchased most of the supplies and will finish up in the next day. The question now is, “Where do we put these 100 bottles of water, these 150 plates, the huge banners, the 8 tablecloths….”?  For now, we will put them in the garage all nice and tidy and cover them up so they do not get dirty and so potential buyers do not wonder why we have so many supplies. They may think that we are preparing for some apocalypse or end of the world type of situation if they saw how many items we actually have.

Thank goodness school is done and the kids and I do not have a specific daily routine or I think I may be in some type of institution from trying to juggle everything. Our house is definitely the cleanest that it has ever been which is a nice feeling. I must admit though, I am very tired of cleaning. When I am sitting and waiting, my mind goes to what I could clean better or make look nicer. There is not much time for relaxation with this mind of mine right now! In due time, that will come though. Hopefully, as we are sitting on the beach and simply listening to the sound of the waves! I am more than ready!
